CHERKASY REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY: CURRENT CHALLENGES AND ROLE IN ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT

Abstract
Introduction. Regional Development Agencies play an essential role in stimulating economic growth within regions. Cherkasy region, like many other regions in Ukraine, requires proactive measures to attract investment, develop infrastructure, and support local businesses. Studying current challenges makes it possible to assess the effectiveness of existing strategies and identify new development opportunities.The role of Regional Development Agencies has significantly increased because of the ongoing war and the need for post-war recovery. Agencies can serve as coordinators in distributing international aid and implementing projects for infrastructure and economic recovery.
Purpose. Identification and specification of current challenges for the Cherkasy Regional Development Agency.
Results. The article examines the activities of the Cherkasy Regional Development Agency during martial law, identifying its main areas of operation, operational outcomes, and current challenges. It specifies the tasks of the agency within the context of national regional policy and organizational management. The study analyzes and categorizes strategic documents that influence organizational management and business development in the region. These documents include regional development strategies, action plans, comprehensive regional recovery programs, community development strategies, community recovery plans, integrated community spatial development plans, and specific projects for integration into the DREAM initiative, all of which align with high-level strategic frameworks. Furthermore, the study explores the activities and challenges faced by the Cherkasy Regional Development Agency, which are crucial for understanding the region's development directions and for identifying effective strategies to address current challenges.
Originality. The originality of this scientific article lies in its analysis of the challenges faced by the Cherkasy Regional Development Agency during martial law and in the study of its adaptation and role in the region's recovery. The article proposes innovative management and development strategies that consider limited resources and highlights unique partnerships with international organizations to attract assistance.
Conclusions. Regional Development Agencies play a multifunctional role by providing coordination, support, and recovery services that are essential for the resilience and prosperity of the regions in our country. Examining the activities and challenges faced by the Cherkasy Regional Development Agency is crucial for understanding the region's development directions and identifying effective strategies that address current challenges. This will not only help to improve the quality of life for the local population but will also contribute to the region’s sustainable development.
