The study presented the essence of time management as a set of tools and methods for optimal use of working time and reducing the effects of factors that cause significant loss of time in the workplace. A causation of factors influencing the inefficient use of working time in the HEI was established, including: low level of HEI adaptability to environmental changes; ineffective HEI management system; lack of current methods of accounting for working time in the NPP; low level of self-management and personal efficiency of teachers.

The implementation of these measures will make it possible to eradicate the causes of "time wasters", will have a long-term effect and will help increase the competitiveness of HEI.
