EFFECTIVE TIME PLANNING IN THE MANAGEMENT OF A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

Abstract

Introduction. The article is devoted to the study of time management as a component of the management system of higher education institution (hereinafter HEI) and the factor of increasing the adaptability of HEI to changes in the external environment and increasing the level of competitiveness.


Purpose. The aim of the article is to study time management as a factor in increasing the adaptability of HEIs to changes in the external environment, increasing the quality of management processes and self-management of scientific and pedagogical staff and increasing the level of competitiveness of HEIs.


Results. The study presented the essence of time management as a set of tools and methods for optimal use of working time and reducing the effects of factors that cause significant loss of time in the workplace. A causation  of factors influencing the inefficient use of working time in the HEI was established, including: low level of HEI adaptability to environmental changes; ineffective HEI management system; lack of current methods of accounting for working time in the NPP; low level of self-management and personal efficiency of teachers.


A systematic approach to the implementation of time management in the HEI management system has been proposed, which includes the following main components: formation of a single time-management paradigm at the HEI level; implementation of modern automated technologies; improvement of management competencies level; improvement of motivation level of teaching staff. The implementation of these measures will make it possible to eradicate the causes of "time wasters", will have a long-term effect and will help increase the competitiveness of HEI.


Originality. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the presentation of an integrated solution for the implementation of time management technology at the HEI management level. Practical significance of the research is determined by the possibility of using the presented solution in HEI activities and increasing its level of competitiveness.


Conclusion. The introduction of time management technology in the activities of HEI should be systemic in nature and begin with the formation of a single paradigm at the level of HEI management. A comprehensive conceptual approach to the implementation of the time management system in the HEI will allow:


- significantly speed up the time of meetings, decision-making;


- optimize the use of working hours of the NPP;


- increase the level of motivation of NPP and work efficiency;


- to form modern innovative thinking in students;


- to increase the level of adaptability of HEI to changes in the environment;


- to increase the level of competitiveness of HEI and, accordingly, to attract more students.
