MODERN APPROACHES TO CORPORATE CULTURE: STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL RESILIENCE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction. The growing volatility of the business environment, digital transformation, workforce mobility, security risks, and the shortage of qualified personnel require enterprises to reconsider corporate culture as a strategic management resource rather than a set of symbolic attributes. The research problem arises from the fragmented interpretation of the mechanisms through which values, behavioural norms, leadership practices, human capital, and stakeholder relations jointly influence organisational resilience.
Purpose. The study aims to substantiate the strategic role of corporate culture in enterprise development and organisational resilience, systematise contemporary theoretical approaches to its formation and transformation, and develop a conceptual model of culturally determined organisational resilience under uncertainty.
Methods. The methodological framework combines analysis and synthesis, a systems approach, comparative analysis, theoretical generalisation, structural-logical reasoning, and conceptual modelling. These methods were used to identify the principal dimensions of corporate culture, compare strategic, adaptive, human-resource, institutional, innovative, and stakeholder-oriented approaches, and establish causal relationships between cultural mechanisms and organisational outcomes.
Results. Corporate culture is defined as an integrated subsystem of strategic management that comprises value-normative, behavioural-communicative, human-capital and competency-based, institutional-managerial, and stakeholder-ethical components. Their coordinated interaction supports trust, knowledge exchange, employee adaptability, responsible leadership, organisational learning, and alignment between declared values and actual management practices. The study demonstrates that cultural influence on resilience is mediated through personnel management, internal communication, innovation, institutional coordination, and stakeholder accountability. A conceptual model is proposed in which external challenges activate organisational change, cultural components shape managerial responses, and the resulting effects include the preservation of critical competencies, continuity of business processes, lower conflict and transaction risks, stronger reputational capital, and long-term performance.
Originality. The scientific novelty lies in integrating the internal and external dimensions of corporate culture into a unified structural-logical model. Unlike approaches that examine culture primarily as a psychological climate or a human-resource instrument, the proposed model explains how cultural components are transformed into strategic and resilience-related outcomes through specific managerial mechanisms.
Conclusion. Corporate culture contributes to organisational resilience only when it is embedded in leadership behaviour, personnel policies, motivation systems, communication procedures, organisational learning, and stakeholder engagement. The results can be applied to cultural transformation strategies and diagnostic tools for assessing the alignment of culture with strategic objectives. Further research should operationalise the model, develop quantitative and qualitative indicators, and empirically test it across industries under wartime, digital, and post-crisis conditions.
