DEVELOPMENT OF A MODEL FOR ENTERPRISE’S INNOVATION ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, ACCOUNTING THE INNOVATION ACTIVITY LEVEL

Abstract

Introduction. Innovation in today’s knowledge-based economy is a key factor in the competitiveness of enterprises, and its effectiveness is determined by the presence of a comprehensive management system. Fragmented management decisions reduce effectiveness; therefore, a conceptual management model that ensures the alignment of strategic objectives, resources, and innovation development processes takes on particular importance.


Purpose. The purpose of this study is to provide a theoretical rationale for and develop a conceptual model of a system for managing an enterprise’s innovation activities, with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of its innovation efforts and ensuring its strategic development.


Results. A conceptual model of an innovation management system has been developed, taking into account the level of an enterprise’s innovation activity. This model is based on the interaction of management subjects and objects, business processes, management functions, and factors of the external and internal environments that determine the conditions for the enterprise’s innovative development. The key objects of innovation activity management have been identified, the comprehensive development of which forms the basis for effective innovation progress. A systematization of business processes and management procedures has been proposed, aimed at transforming innovative ideas into practical innovations and ensuring the effective use of the enterprise’s resource and intellectual potential. It has been established that the integration of mechanisms for knowledge management, the development of inter-organizational cooperation, and the replenishment of innovation resources enhances the innovative activity of enterprises in various industries and increases the efficiency of their intellectual potential.


Originality. The novelty of the study lies in the development of a conceptual model of a system for managing an enterprise’s innovation activities as a multilevel integrated structure that combines strategic, organizational, resource, and process components, taking into account the level of innovation activity.


Conclusion. As a result of the study, the theoretical and methodological foundations for developing a system for managing an enterprise’s innovation activities, taking into account its level of innovation activity have been further refined. The study justifies the approach of viewing innovation activities as a complex, multilevel system determined by the interaction of strategic, organizational, resource-based, and process-based management components. A conceptual model of an enterprise’s innovation management system is proposed, within which key objects of managerial influence are identified, including knowledge, innovative ideas, inter-organizational relationships, resources, innovation processes, and innovation activity. It is demonstrated that the effectiveness of an enterprise’s innovative development is largely determined by the efficiency of organizational mechanisms for generating, selecting, and implementing innovative ideas, as well as by the level of inter-organizational cooperation, which contributes to expanding the resource and knowledge base of innovative activity. The importance of applying a process-based approach to managing innovation activities is substantiated; this approach involves identifying key business processes, establishing control parameters for their operation, and utilizing appropriate management tools. It has been determined that a comprehensive consideration of internal and external factors affecting an enterprise’s operations creates the conditions for enhancing the adaptability of the innovation management system to the conditions of a dynamic competitive environment. Implementation of the proposed model will contribute to improving the effectiveness of management decisions in the field of innovation development, stimulating enterprises’ innovation activity, and strengthening their strategic competitive positions.
